Another handy satellite downloader. Since this software is not free, I won’t go into too much detail about it here. Installation is not complicated at all — even a weekend PC user can handle it. The configuration is also nothing difficult; simply choose the correct provider in the “Provider” menu and click the button next to it (the blue triangle), and downloading will begin.

The screenshot was taken from version 2.1, but at this time version 2.5.2 is already available, which includes several new features, such as Slovak language support, memory and CPU usage indicators, and most preconfigured providers. I quite like SkyGrabber — it allows you to set which file types you want to download, what size, and more. In the main menu there is an interesting item called IP DNS Cache. However, SkyGrabber also has its flaws — it puts a heavy load on memory and CPU, at least for me. Maybe the author will fix this over time, we’ll see. When I have more time, I will try to play with this software a bit more and write a longer article. The official SkyGrabber website is www.skygrabber.com.
